Classic Sitcoms

My favorite sitcoms of all time are:

Golden Girls -- These four gals has lines that shall endure for 50 years. The pause after the punch-line for us to laugh heartily then resume watching is priceless.

Designing Women -- These four gals are awesome. I loved their punch lines. Julia once spoke something, "In the North, they hide their lunatic siblings, but here, we put them in the front for the world to see."

Married with Children -- Who cannot resist the lovable Bundy family?

The Jeffersons -- Who love Weezie? I do. And their maid. And the obnoxious but lovable Mr. Jefferson!

Anyone care to add?

The current sitcoms that I think has a potential to go 50 years and still be funny:

The Simpsons, Futurama, King of the Hill and Malcolm In The Middle.

One show that seems to be promising: Father of the Pride

One show that will never be a classic: Cosby Show -- it is too cheesy.

One show that could be a classic if not for its last year's edition: Roseanne -- but you must admit that the finale of the show was a stunning one.

What do you think?

I Felt Bad For Him!

This occured during Deaf Way II Conference in Washington, DC two years ago. After the hectic moments in the massive lobby of Deaf Way II Conference, I plopped on a couch by the window, I get to enjoy the traffic and thousands of deaf people mingling. It was a spectacular scene to behold.

Suddenly, I saw Shannon standing few yards away from me. Shannon is a dear friend of mine who stood about 5'2 tall. Somehow, I looked around and saw a little boy wandering away from his parents who were talking to someone else. Right behind the little boy was a guy of taller height ... maybe 6'2 or so, the taller guy waved to get Shannon's attention.

Shannon turned to see this taller guy and shrieked. Apparently, she hadn't seen the taller guy in a long time. Suddenly, I noticed that the little boy was startled by her shriek and assumed that it was directed at him. Shannon then walked towards the taller guy who were also walking towards her. In the middle of the path was a little boy who thought Shannon was going to hug him.

The little boy then slammed into Shannon to hug her, as the taller guy crashed into Shannon to hug -- suddenly, Shannon was confused and shoved the little boy off and hugged the taller guy. The little boy was bewildered and confused -- then his parents ran to him and told him, "WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING ABOUT? DO YOU THINK SHE KNEW WHO YOU ARE? STOP ACTING LIKE YOU KNEW EVERYONE ELSE!"

I felt bad for him.

I never forgot that episode -- I really felt for him. He probably was traumatized.

An Idea

Unlike Amy, I will not stereotype one group with the other (I won't? Hahaha! Only few ones I shall stereotype -- like hearies!). If people violated the decency of human beings such as the terrorists did. I wonder what the governments do with their bodies? I mean, these who bombed themselves on a purpose to kill? These suicide bombers? These so-called bad guys ... whatever happened to their bodies?

I think we could do something to spread the message -- that we tossed their bodies into a garbage dump. Publicize it. I think many people would realize that it is not something they wanted to do. Not bad idea, eh?

God Bless PBS!

It is no secret that I love PBS. Last Saturday evening, I was bored and watched the documentary show about the Russian community that handles the missile controls. Basically, it is the place where some soldiers shunned the Russian society for the life on a base with a life-long service to the Motherland by protecting and serving the missile controls. They will fire the missiles at will with no thoughts if ordered by the Russian President.

One lieutenant indicated that women are forbidden in the control room, mainly because women are programmed to be peacemakers, men are programmed to engage in wars ... he smiled then uttered, "except that Russian women are tough." He had a sexy, wicked grin. Made me smile, though.

Charley, Frances and ... Ivan?

I am assuming that the weather is on our side against the Republicans. More and more hurricanes are hitting Florida until the residents decided that hurricanes are terrorists and that Bush did not do anything to protect them from these crazed-radical storms from bulldozing their state repeatedly, they will come to their senses and punch their ballots for John Kerry.

Only time will tell.

But I have a strong suspicion that President Bush already captured Osama bin Laden but is being secretive until late October in time for a surprise to wreck the election in his favor.

Don't look at me if I'm right, honey.

Islam & Islamophobia

Some people are decidedly retarded to start with. All religions has growing pains. They went through a period of massacres & wars to justify their beliefs and claims in the name of God or Jesus Christ or Ridor.

Islam is fast-growing religion and perhaps, the youngest religion of three: Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Islam is only 1,400 years old. It is experiencing a period of disarray and disagreements among the members of Islam, which indicated that it is positive.

Don't tell me that I'm wrong on this subject -- I got an A on History of Modern Middle East, and an A in Cultural Geography under one of tough professors at Gallaudet ... at ease. I had no problem passing these classes. Why? Because it is my subject ... because it is something that I am interested in. I am utterly interested in Balkan region, Caucasas region and Middle East -- even to a point where I hope a fucking asteroid crashed in the region just to shut everyone else up and finish it with the holy land crap.

It is much more than just a religion when it comes to a conflict in the region. It is utterly stupid and silly of Amy Kurz to decide that it's a Muslim thing. I guess, for her, her background from Pensacola, Florida and Mobile, Alabama indicated that her intelligence is all but a shallow one.

The problem lies not with the religion but poverty and rights. Many Muslims lived in a place that does not allow them to have the personal rights. They cannot vote, they cannot have a decent job, they cannot have the rights to change the laws. All their lives are in the controls of some kings. Plus, many Imams & clerics are illiterate and owned by the kings who has money. The kings often told the Imams and clerics to tell the others what to do. When the Americans have the bill of rights to protect themselves, the masses of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Kuwait, Iraq and Yemen looked at them with jealousy. They felt that it was unfair of Americans to proclaim these rights and yet, give the money to their kingdoms to oppress the masses. That is why they retaliated with the 9/11 terrors.

It was expected thing to happen, like it or not. How do we break the cycle? It is all about the mentality and the fairness. It is not about a religion. Osama bin Laden is wealthy person who has one advantage -- he is capable of manipulating the illiterate, bitter young men who are jobless and hopeless to help him out with the wars. So Osama bin Laden wanted a holy war, not all Muslims wanted that. Osama preached to the people who are hopeless and frustrated because he knew it is easy avenue to get them to do the works for him.

When people like Amy kept on accusing Islam of doing things as it did not -- Osama is winning. I personally believe that all religions should be crushed and put away permanently. And if I was the ruler of some world -- all people like Amy would be put to a dungeon where they will never see a sun again. Never to utter a hateful word ever again.

Of course, I am the only person who can utter a hateful word to anyone else. But certainly not anyone else.

Saw one deaf woman last Friday wearing the Bush/Cheney campaign button. I was surprised and asked her why. She said she supports Bush/Cheney because her church said she must support them. "My preacher told me that Kerry is bad, Bush will help to kill Muslims. Muslims are evil, they support Satan. They will kill our children. We must support Bush/Cheney. Yes."

I groaned. See?

I rest my case. As always, my hatred is much better and dignified than yours, Amy and X-ians.
