Texas asked for this. Many Texans do not believe in climate change. They derided the liberals and Democrats for believing in science. They boasted that Texas has a great power grid system. That the climate change was a myth. For years, the Texan former Governor and the former US Secretary of Energy Rick Perry and the current Senator Ted Cruz boasted that Texas has a great energy infrastructure.
BOOM!
Polar vortex swooshed into Texas and wrecked its power grid system, forcing 2 million residents to deal with freezing temperatures and rolling powers that continues as of today.
Never mind the fact that the Republicans in Texas just lodged a state legislature bill to secede from the United States, it did not stop them from begging President Biden and the US government to issue the federal emergency orders so that they can access to FEMA for assistance. President Biden could easily say no, like Trump did do to few other states in the past but Biden was a genuine American who did not hesitate to oblige and provide the orders right away.
Polar vortexes is part of climate change patterns - normally, it would roll horizontally in northern hemisphere - mostly across Canada, the Rockies and the northern part of the Great Plains. But these days, it would move on its erratic course ... vertically that rolls much farther down into the South and the Southwest. This erratic patterns will continue to worsen over the long period of time.
Texans won't see the last time of this polar vortex, trust me. But the problem is: Texas thinks they are all that when they are not. They kept on forgetting that they are just a tiny piece of this planet who can easily dismiss Texas in a blink of its eye if it has one.
