Greetings,

My name is Ricky Taylor, an alumni of Gallaudet. Beginning in 1995, I used to be a member of Lambda Society of Gallaudet University that later changed with 3 names: Rainbow Alliance of Gallaudet University, Rainbow Society of Gallaudet University and now, Rainbow Society.

Last Sunday during the LGBTIQA Reunion on Zoom hosted by GUAA, I had a brief conversation with the founder of LSGC (Lambda Society of Gallaudet College) who told me that dealing with SBG, Student Congress and The Buff and Blue in 1983-1984 was incredibly brutal. 

LSGC had been trying to form an organization beginning in 1976, the SBG stonewalled them for 8 years until 1984. With the help of Dr. Allen Sussman, the former Dean of Student Affairs who revised the bylaws of LSGC to meet the SBG's guidelines in order to qualify as an organization recognized by the SBG. It was sent to the Student Congress where it failed to pass by 1, 10-9. The Congress said there was one line that did not meet the SBG's guidelines and that they can revisit the next month after the spring break.  

By that time, The Buff and Blue published articles, guest editorial and editorials attacking LSGC repeatedly. It was obviously the case of blatant homophobia.  See the enclosed articles for further details. As you can see, there are too many articles.

At that time, the Editor-in-Chief of The Buff and Blue was William Hughes who is the current Executive Director of Contracts and Procurement at Gallaudet University.

The next month "after" the spring break, with the packed anti-gay crowd at Student Congress, LSGC lost the bid, 15-1 - thanks to William Hughes' anti-gay attacks using The Buff and Blue newspaper to create the climate of hostility against the LGBTs in 1984. 

You can go to Gallaudet website and check WRLC on the archives of The Buff and Blue back in 1983-1984, there are many articles, editorials, guest editorials where others slammed on LGBTs repeatedly. It was very ugly.

Thanks to the interference of Dr. Allen Sussman who ordered the SBG and the University to accept the LSGC as an organization. The Buff and Blue continue to attack the organization and with the SBG's shoulders turning back on LSGC. The words and actions by the SBG and The Buff and Blue has harmed LSGC for the next 20 years between 1980s to 2000s.

LSGC/LSGU/RAGU/RSGU/RS struggled to have more than 12 members per year. The organization was effectively the pariah from other organizations who declined to partner or network with each other. They won't partner with us to share the events together. No other organization wanted to work with us.

Between 1984 to 2000s, our reputation suffered, our funds suffered and our progress slowed to a still. Many members of the organization did not have good networking skills for their career goals, they did not get high paying, good jobs after they graduated from Gallaudet. Many could not get in fraternity or sorority until much later in the late 1990s. Many members would congregate together upstairs in the cafeteria away from the hostile anti-gay crowds who mingled downstairs.

In 1998 or 1999, I was the chairperson of an event for Rainbow Society - I decided to take the party off campus to a gay bar name Titan's Ramrod (now closed) which helped us to make over $2,000 which was the largest ever in the history of the organization. Slowly, Rainbow Society finally grew its membership roll and today, it is in good shape.  

But my focus is on 1980s-2000s. The homophobic attacks by The Buff and Blue newspaper, led by William Hughes, as well as the Student Body Government and Student Congress has left a huge mark and impact on the wellbeings of the organization and members for nearly 20 years. Their actions has left the organization weak and unable to have a proper nor decent relationship with other groups. Many members graduated and did not have good jobs while the ones who waged the attacks on us went on to have great careers. 

Last Sunday at the reunion, some alumni from the late 1970s-early 1980s said that they did not have any role model at Kendall Green and that their time at Gallaudet was traumatic. 

I was not there in 1984, but when I entered Gallaudet in 1991 - I saw how the students, staff, faculty, alumni and organizations ostracized the LSGU who kept on changing their names over the years. I had seen how the members of LSGU were mistreated by others for a long time. 

All of this was caused by The Buff and Blue, Student Body Government and Student Congress beginning in 1983-1984 - their attacks has left this ugly mark on the group for the next 20 years and harmed the members as well. 

Gallaudet is going through a lot of changes and today is supportive of diversity, equity and inclusion. Which is good thing but it also can mean nothing to some unless the SBG and The Buff and Blue come forward to acknowledge, recognize and perhaps, to make a formal apology for their actions in 1983-1984 to Rainbow Society and its former/current members.

I hope with this letter along with the evidence, you will take this into consideration to acknowledge and correct the mistakes committed by the Student Body Government and The Buff and Blue upon the organization and its members.

I HATE CARL NASSIB

Fuck Carl Nassib.  Just because he's pretty gay boy who just came out that he's gay while he's playing for Las Vegas Raiders. 

At first, I was happy for him but after reading posts, entries and tweets - I realized that ... this disgusting dude supported Donald Trump. He is Republican.  He is Conservative.  He is not one of us. He is here to make money off from us. When you read what he did ... and the pictures that he posted -the ones that clearly showed him hanging out with the ones who was involved with January 6 insurrection in DC. 

And you, white gays, want to embrace him?  I just can't.  I hope nothing but worst for him. So I can laugh at him. When he made it clear that he supported Trump, Republicans, Conservatives and shit ... it means one thing:  He is all for *himself*. 

We need to stop enabling his shit.  Just fucking stop. 

No, I won't post his picture on my post because the sight of him is nauseating already.

Chrissy Caouette Stein Is Such A Loser

I was contacted by someone close to the family of Chrissy Caouette Stein who alerted me that she is very much sure that Chrissy's deceased son, Kyle Stein stole her husband's gold necklace worth of $800.00. 

Kyle Stein was killed along with underaged girlfriend as they attempted to rob a drug dealer in St. Augustine, Florida last October (2020). 

That relative has been trying to find where the gold necklace ... until they saw the necklace on Chrissy's another son by the name of Brett Leffel. Brett Leffel, like his wifey Brandi, has a long string of criminal history. 

Chrissy Caouette Stein is a longtime pro-Trump supporter who also bashed LGBTIQA+ community.  For a long time, Chrissy has been slamming on Democrats, Liberals, Moderates and LGBTs as "immoral", evil and all that hocus pocus.  It turns out that Chrissy apparently has been teaching her own kids, Brett and Kyle on how to commit the crimes from day one.

Chrissy and Brett, Kyle is dead!  No, Jesus is not going to bring him back.  Return the gold necklace to the rightful owner - do the right thing.  If not, you're nothing but a bunch of criminal thieves.  

Oh, that's right, Brett's wife, Brandi also has criminal history.  

This would explain everything on why Chrissy viewed Trump as some type of god. 

How disgusting.

Virginia Cavaliers Advances to CWS

Virginia Baseball has upset the heavily favored Dallas Baptist, 5-2 to win the Super Regionals and advances to the Collegiate World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.  The appearance in Collegiate World Series is 5th time in 12 years for the Cavaliers.  

Dallas Baptist finished the season at 41-18 while Virginia Cavaliers improved to 35-25.  Virginia will face Tennessee Volunteers in Omaha on Sunday the 20th of June.

Meagan Rose Davis Is Found ... !

Meagan Rose Davis was missing for about 10 days starting after Memorial Day Weekend in Austin, Texas and she is well known for proselytizing on Facebook and Instagram about God, Jesus and all that silly thing. She is a founder of Facebook's Deaf Women of Faith (DWOF) which she continues to spew silly things about her faith.

My sources in Austin said that she has a history of mental illness and a long string of criminal activity involving the variety of drugs and alcohol.  

She used to be married with Michael Davis who was also a Christian nutcase as well.  My sources said that Michael was the one who mocked at her for having mental illness and eventually caused her to stop taking the medications in her warped attempts to prove that she was "normal". Michael is a graduate of California School for the Deaf at Fremont.

Yes, she was found alive.  Her Power of Attorney made a vlog announcing that she was found safe several days ago.  But she conveniently neglected to mention that she was located about 175 miles northeast of Austin where she is currently jailed at Houston County Jail in Crockett, Texas.

VIRGINIA BASEBALL:  Virginia had a tight game but lost to Dallas Baptist 6-5 in the first game of the Super Regionals in Columbia, South Carolina.  Virginia is now 33-25. With its back on the wall, Virginia has no choice but to step forward and fight back for the next two games if they wanted to reach the Collegiate World Series in Omaha.

UPDATE:  Virginia Baseball beats Dallas Baptist 4-0 to even the series in Super Regionals and will play once again tomorrow in Columbia, South Carolina. Virginia is now 34-25 while Dallas Baptist fell to 41-17.

My Struggles

When I struggle with things in life, I try to keep my eyes open to the future. The future is very bleak.

Which is why I refuse to have a child of my own.  I simply refuse to let my child to suffer dealing with you fools.  I mean, look at yourself, you're full of shit.

As much as I am happy that Virginia Baseball and Lacrosse are doing very, very, very well.  I just can't imagine myself having a child like this to deal with your shit. But for now, I'll enjoy what is on the table.

Because I'm like Kole's father.  He knows what is going to happen. Eventually.

And you people are going to eat each other. Just like roaches and mouses.

Oh My!

 This is awesome.  

This is unexpected as Virginia Cavaliers Baseball has won the Columbia Regionals and will advance to the Super Regionals versus Dallas Baptist.  Whoever wins the Super Regionals will advance to the Collegiate World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.  Virginia bested ODU 8-3 and 4-3 to finish 4-1 in Columbia Regionals.  Virginia is now 33-24 and will play Dallas Baptist who is now at 40-16.

Virginia was upset by Dallas Baptist twice four years ago in Fort Worth Regionals. At that time, Virginia was heavily favored to win the Fort Worth Regionals. So there is some type of redemption needed to make.

Let's Examine This

When I was 11 years old, I became hooked to Amethyst Maxiseries because of many reasons but one of them is Gary Cohn who wrote the maxi series.  He was able to put tough words that as 11 years old, I could not understand so I had to pull the dictionary to understand what one was being said.  

Here is an example.

Gary Cohn used these tough words such as:

• Lesser
• Emissaries
• Expedient
• Mollify
• Appeasement

All of this happened in less than 5 panels. These 5 words I quickly pulled the dictionary and understand the words. That's what happened when you read the comic books with great authors like Gary Cohn.

Many Deaf people are not good with English, reading and writing - why? Because they simply don't read and write on their own time. As much as they would deny this, what I said is true because all you have to do is to look at their blogs, posts, tweets and vlogs to start with. So whenever a Deaf person told me that comics are for kids, that's when I knew their writing & reading skills are going to be very bad. And often I was right.

UVA SPORTS: Tiffany & His Men's Lax Wins The 2nd Straight National Championship

When Dom Starsia was pushed out of Virginia's Men Lacrosse's program following the sharp decline in the aftermath of a murder scandal involving one former player with George Huguely who was found guilty of second degree murder with the death of Virginia women's lacrosse player, Yeardley Love, I was not sure if the program will be able to recover in the face of ACC teams whom also excelled with the sport. 

Right after the murder scandal, Virginia went 4-18 in the ACC in 5 years, it ultimately costs Dom the job as Virginia pushed him out.

When Lars Tiffany was hired as the Head Coach of the program 5 years ago, I was not even sure if he's for real. But he is. Under his guide, the program has recovered quickly enough to win 2nd straight national championship, beating the undefeated Maryland Terrapins 17-16 in a thrilling game in East Hartford, Connecticut.  

It is safe enough for me to say that the program is here to stay and it will remain as one of the nation's perennial heavyweights. Lars Tiffany mentioned that the program exists only to win the champions.

Of course, Lars is right on the target.  

VIRGINIA BASEBALL:  After winning the national championship in 2015, Virginia Baseball seems to hit some type of lull for the next 5 years, going 152-91. Then this year, Virginia opened the season 11-14, 4-12 (ACC) which baffled me and many fans. Thankfully, the team recovered to finish the season at 27-22, 18-18 (ACC). With a strong finish in the ACC Tournament (2-1), Virginia returned to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2017. They were assigned to the Columbia Regional where the team opened with a 4-3 loss to South Carolina to fall into the loser's bracket and beat Jacksonville 13-8 and South Carolina 3-2 to face Old Dominion in the finals of Columbia Regionals. If Virginia wins, there will be another game between Virginia (31-24) and Old Dominion (44-14) tomorrow night - whoever wins this game gets to advance to the Super Regionals.

UPDATE:  Virginia Baseball has beaten Old Dominion 8-3 and because of that, it triggered one more match between Virginia and Old Dominion tomorrow night.  Virginia is now 32-24 while ODU fell to 44-15.

Millicent Simmonds Triumphs In A Quiet Place Part II

Just finished watching A Quiet Place Part II.  Here's my verdict:  I like it very much.  

The first film has the ... horror-like, suspense and apocalypse feelings to it. Part II has none of that "horror-like" feeling but retain the suspense and apocalypse approaches to the film, it is not gruesome but it is very violent ... action film since we knew who the blind creatures are as well as knowing their weaknesses.  

In the first part, Lee Abbott (played by John Krasinski) along with his wife Evelyn (played by John's wife, Emily Blount) played a pivotal role in being hero, trying to protect their children - Marcus (by Noah Jupe) and Regan (by Millicent Simmonds whom herself is Deaf) from these blind creatures who were bent on slaughtering anyone that makes a noise.  What sustained the family for a while is their ability to use American Sign Language with their voices muted, while millions were slaughtered.  Lee eventually sacrificed himself to save his family.  

In second part, as much as Evelyn continues to protect her teens, Marcus and Regan - they must conquer their fears and embrace their roles in fighting against the blind invaders. Needless to say, Marcus and Regan triumphed at the end which will tie in the third film of the trilogy. And by the ending of the film, it is obvious that Marcus and Regan are going to lead the humans against the blind invaders.

One interesting thing about the blind invaders, they are very sensitive to two things - the very two things that easily got them killed in the process - made me think about their "homeworld" - I got the feeling that their faraway planet does not have a body of water and it may indicate that their planet is a scorched and barren planet that does not rely on their eyes or ability to use their bodies to swim.

For a long time, the film industry has portrayed Deaf characters as helpless, hapless and pitiful who must rely on hearing people for any help. But this film, it focused on the determination of Regan who insisted that she needs to do what is must be done and she ... succeeded. When she did do that, she slaughtered her first blind invader.

You know what I think ... ?  If a deaf teenager survived and gets to slaughter the formidable blind invader like Regan who is able to survive this destruction, it means Regan is not the only Deaf individual on the planet who did do this. Therefore, the folks involved with the production needs to hunt down and include the new ... few Deaf characters to sign up as warriors in the third film. They'd make a formidable foe for the blind invaders.

After all, I was at a deaf school at VSDB that has a blind department, too - you folks do *not* know how many times we had these .... conflicts ... with blind students.

Either way, I must praise Millicent Simmonds for her role in the film.  I look forward to see what she has to offer in the next film. I still think Millicent is going to be the next Marlee Matlin, like it or not.  Hell, at this pace, she can be better than Marlee and if she does, I'm dead sure that Marlee would be so thrilled to see her like that.

For what is worth, I had seen her in Wonderstruck, A Quiet Place and now A Quiet Place Part II - Millicent *can* act.  She's amazing actress.  Please note that I said she's amazing actress without "deaf" in it.
